Narrative

The Home of the 9¢ Salad

After working for one multi-national company for more than 25 years in the foodservice industry, the owner relocated from Phoenix to Yuma, AZ.
In 1992, a centrally located ice cream and sandwich shop, Swensen's, came on the market.  The owners purchased it and completely remodelled the interior.  Papa-San Rice Bowl opened its doors to the public in February 1993 and is still Yuma's only Japanese quick service rice bowl restaurant.
